Both residential and commercial construction require building permits.

Permits & Inspections will accept submittals at the counter (2875 Sabre St., Suite 500) only for small plan sets meeting the requirements listed below. Counter reviews will be performed during normal office hours.
All other items should be submitted online. The initial review for online submissions takes three business days. Revisions will also be done in three business days.
Commercial building plan sets must meet the following criteria to be accepted at the counter:
Interior and exterior alterations with a work area of 2,500 square feet or less
No change of use
No A, I, or H uses
Plan sets of five pages or less
Residential building plan sets must meet the following criteria to be accepted at the counter:
Additions 500 square feet or less, plan set shall not exceed five pages
Alterations with a work area of 500 square feet or less, plan set shall not exceed five pages
Accessory structures 500 square feet or less, plan set shall not exceed five pages
Uncovered decks of any size, plan set shall not exceed five pages
