The rural context area is located south of the Blue Line (Indian River Road) and portions of the Green Line (Princess Anne Road).

• The Green Line and the Blue Line would remain unchanged.
• Rural preservation plan objectives would remain:
  • Preserve and promote a vibrant agricultural economy.
  • Reinforce rural heritage and way of life.
  • Sustain natural resources for future generations.
  • Manage rural area development and design.
• Rural villages would continue to provide rural retail and house essential municipal facilities (such as fire, EMS)
• Rural corridors would have no more than two lanes and limit the number of access points to adjacent parcels to limit development.
• The City’s Agricultural Reserve Program would continue to provide incentives for farmers to stay in farming.
